Sustainable 'going mobile' model

The majority of the NSSCF fleet will have expired prior to the implementation of BYOx in 2016. We are currently considering an increase to the Student Resource Hire Scheme (SRHS) to cover maintenance as we prepare for the anticipated device requirements.

By Semester 2, 2014 we will have a sustainable ‘Going Mobile’ model that supports the continued provision of high-quality school networking infrastructure, on-site technical support, the supply of opt-in devices and the provision of an equity fleet. This will most likely include computer labs.

In Semester 1, 2015 we plan to further engage with the school community via newsletters, website, parent information sessions and possibly the local media.

We plan to commence a trial of BYOx with selected classes and teachers in Semester 2, 2015.

In January 2016, there will be the full implementation of the agreed approach. This may include an option for students with BYOx devices, an option of school supplied/parent funded devices and an equity fleet of devices at a 1:3 student to computer ratio.

It is envisioned that, as a result of this planning and trialling, students will continue to have access to sufficient technology to engage in learning environments that enable critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and reflection.
